John is a Director of Research at Jadian Capital. He has spent the past four years engaged in qualitative investment research after a three-decade career as an award-winning business journalist with the Wall Street Journal Money and Fortune magazines and Bloomberg News.  He is also co-author of Barbarians at the Gate, the account of the buyout battle for RJR Nabisco which was a #1 New York Times best-seller and made into an Emmy-winning HBO movie.  John has held staff positions at Select Equity Group and Greenstone Partners and conducts independent research for a variety of investment firms.
